Surfactant is commonly seen in the necessities of pharmaceutical preparation owing to its functions as wetting, emulsification and solubility, in particular its use is on the rise in the pharmaceutical microemulsion technology having been developing recently. Surfactant acts as phase transfer catalyst in drug synthesis, changing the degree of solvation of ions and then increasing the reactivity of ions,which makes the reaction go on in heterogeneous system so the reaction efficiency is increased greatly. Surfactant is used as solubilizing and sensitizing agents in pharmaceutical analysis especially in pharmaceutical spectrofluorimetry. It is regarded as bactericide and disinfectant popularly because it can interact with bacterial biofilm proteins fiercely so that it will denaturate or be disabled.
